5.0 out of 5 stars love it, October 25, 2010

Love this nursing cover. I own three hooter hiders, and this is by far the best. I love the ruffles, both because they are beautiful and practical. The extra weight helps keep it in place, even when baby is exuberant (ie wiggling all over). It is also is the biggest, and I really appreciate the coverage (if you are trying to cover up, then it's great that it does the job!). If I lay it out, it also subs as a tummy time mat, shade cover, or lightweight blanket for naptime. It was a bit spendy for my taste, but I do love it so much, I would buy it again!

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs ventilation holes, August 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
The hooter hiders would work better if my baby wasn't constantly trying to move it. It gets pretty hot inside despite the opening at the top. I don't know if my baby doesn't like it because it is too hot, or if he just doesn't like being covered up. Maybe they can make them with some sort of ventilation holes. The Hooter Hider material is very durable and thicker than the Udder cover material. I use the udder cover more often because since it is lighter material, it doesn't get as hot, but it still gets hot and my baby still hates it, whether outside or in our house. It is summer, so maybe it works better in the winter when it's cold.

This thing is perfect! The stiff ring in it works great to be able to see the baby while feeding. I have been using it for five months and has been through several washings. It has held up great. Don't hesitate by one for yourself and all of your friends!!

3.0 out of 5 stars a good idea but does not always work for me, July 26, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This was recommended to me by a friend. When I new to nursing, I liked to use it because it was so big, I felt very covered up and more comfortable that way. However, other than maybe the first 2 times I used it, I have never been able to arrange it properly so that the "collar" works, so that I can see my baby. I have to have my husband hold it for me so that I can see to get her latched on almost every time. Not sure why I am so mechanically challenged, but it's a problem for me.

Another negative to covers like these (for me, at least) is that it kind of screams, "Hey! I'm nursing!", especially because of the bright prints. I do like this one in particular, but I think it stands out more than a solid color would. I also had the problem that I read in another review where my child gets distracted when light shines through the fabric, and she stops nursing every few seconds.

I think this is a good idea in theory, but I just can't get it to work for me- I wish... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Good cover, but thin material, June 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I bought this cover and a Bebe Au Lait one...I think they are made by the same company. Although they both have the curvature on top, I prefer the Bebe Au Lait one because the material is a tiny bit thicker and it has the nice pockets inside it. I do like that this one has a nice bag for it, though. I think this cover and covers like it are the best I have found for nursing in public. The boning in it for seeing my DD is essential. The only thing I might change is to make it a little bit longer on the sides and maybe an option for attaching in the back to prevent the side view when nursing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very stylish!, November 10, 2009
I just received mine in the mail and was very happy with the quality and look of it... very stylish! And the material seems to be of very good quality. Also really like how the print is subdued but dainty, and not obnoxious like some of the other cover-up prints out there. The patented opening at the top is a real plus, too. Love the ruffles at the bottom! Would recommend to a friend...

1.0 out of 5 stars Insufficient coverage for breastfeeding, October 29, 2008
While the fabric is nice and soft, and the shawl is attractive overall, this product fails miserably in its fundamental task: providing coverage for public breastfeeding. Although it gives you adequate fabric in the front, the shawl is so short on the sides that it exposes the bare skin of your abdomen when you lift your shirt from the waist up to breastfeed. I suppose it would work well with specially-designed breastfeeding blouses which open from the shoulder downwards, but you definitely cannot use it with regular shirts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best nursing shawl out there, hands down, February 12, 2008
By
J. Walker "mattersofmothering" (Ontario, California) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Ok, this shawl does it all. It covers up mom and baby with enough neck space for mom to see baby. It's light and airy for hot weather. It covers front AND back (something other covers don't do). It also works as a blanket, stroller sun cover, table/ground cover for resting and changing baby. It can also be used as a poncho when pregnant or post partum. Lastly, this perfect shawl comes in its own carrying case so it stays clean and compact to take anywhere. I love mine so much that I give it to almost every mom-to-be that I know. And, no, I don't work for the company. Oh, and did I mention that the colors in which it comes are really versitile?

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks cute, but really not functional, February 1, 2008
By
DMPepp (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
After receiving this cover from my registry, it looked very chic and easy to use. Once I started using it, however, I realized that without the built-in hoop that many of the other covers have, it is very difficult to see down while your baby is trying to latch on. Also the hole for your head is way too big - so most of my time was spent trying to keep myself covered while I stummbled with my baby underneath the cover all the while, not being able to see what was going on to get the baby in the right position.
